“Their eyes were opened and they knew that they were both naked.” “Have you eaten of the tree I told you not to eat from?” Gen 3
Man was created in God’s image and likeness and given authority and dominion over all creation including over the Serpent.But the serpent in his envy and guile knew that Man could exercise that dominion ONLY if he walked in communion with God in the spirit.
In order to get that dominion for himself Satan the Serpent of old KNEW HE MUST GET MAN OUT OF THE SPIRIT and into HIS SOUL(flesh)
Satan knew that Man’s dominion hinged upon them believing God’s word so he questioned that word. THE WORD IS JESUS!!Satan knew that the WORD IS JESUS. He was attacking Jesus in their hearts to cause them to trust his(Satan)word more than God’s word.
He caused God to look like He was withholding some beneficial good thing from them.
The moment Eve bought into this idea that God is deceptively withholding from them something that is good for them she stepped out of the spirit into her natural senses.
She saw that the fruit of the tree was good for this and that…it was all over for her at that moment because she had already made the choice to shut her ears to God and open them to the suggestions of the enemy.
Adam on the other hand was not deceived. He could have said no to Eve…he could have told the Devil to go…but he chose not to!
And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. 1 Tim 2:14
Adam deliberately calculated and knew what the situation meant for them and for all of us.
Adam had NOT YET EATEN FROM THE TREE OF LIFE!! WHY NOT?!!
Why had he not eaten from the tree of life when it was right there to eat from?
The Serpent was not tempting them to eat from that tree was he? NO WAY!! GAME OVER FOR HIM IF THEY DID.
Adam, I believe saw the COST of eating from the Tree of Life just like people do today.
I offered to pray for the healing of a man who had a back injury. He told me that he is taking the company to court to sue them. I told him that Jesus had used me to heal many people then I asked him if I could pray for him……in a matter of 5 seconds he answered –“no thanks because then I would not get my payout from the court case”.
He saw the cost of accepting a gift from Jesus…he chose the money rather than healing and freedom from pain!
The cost of walking in the spirit with Jesus is the cost of eating from the tree of life.
If you want LIFE then you must forgo what the outer man wants. If you want Life in Jesus you must say NO to your flesh. This is the cost to walking the crucified life.
Adam knew this. He refused Jesus…he refused the cross…he refused God’s promises…preferring to have the temporary and vain gain of outer fleshly dominion.
He had been gifted dominion ONLY IF HE WALKED IN FAITH AND OBEDIENCE TO THE WORD OF GOD.
They were naked and NOT ASHAMED….because they walked in the spirit with God. They only had eyes for spiritual things…they only had the mind of the spirit…set on the things of the spirit.
Romans 8:5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. 6 For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. 8 So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
This is where God has brought the believer in Jesus….in the spirit…in Christ.
The tempter does the same thing with us as with Eve
He knows that in order to kill, steal and destroy from us he must get us to step out of the spirit of Christ Jesus. He must get us to choose LIFE OR DEATH.
We choose…we are not deceived…just like Adam was not deceived.
With any commandment of God whether it is written in His word or something we know He has told us….the Tempter will try to paint God in a bad way.
Did God say you cannot flirt? Did God say you cannot wear short skirts, tight pants. Did God say you cannot have fun? Did God say you cannot buy a big house by borrowing 1 million dollars from the Bank? Did God say you cannot watch saucy smutty music videos? Did God say you cannot smoke marijuana? etc
On and on Satan will suggest to us that we can do these things and still be right with God.
But what happens when we go with the flesh AGAINST the word of GOD and do these things? We experience leanness in our soul.
Ps 106:14 But lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, and tempted God in the desert.
15 And he gave them their request; but sent leanness into their soul.
Leanness is from the Hebrew word Razon and means:
1. leanness, scantness, wasting
a. leanness
b. wasting (of disease)
c. scantness (of measure)
It comes from a root word, Razah, meaning:
to emaciate, that is, make (become) thin (literally or figuratively)
LEANNESS OF SOUL IS WHAT WE GET FOR SHUTTING OUR EARS TO GOD’S WORD TO US AS BELIEVERS.
Satan KNOWS that the blessing of God only COMES UPON those who walk in the spirit with Jesus…therefore as God’s prosecutor he is allowed to tempt us to see whether we will choose Life in the Spirit or death via the flesh.
God’s word also tells us to love our enemies
Amos the prophet wrote against Israel because they were oppressing the poor and needy in the land and using deceitful weights and measures to buy the poor when they themselves had impoverished them. He goes on to say this:
Amos 8:10 And I will turn your feasts into mourning, and all your songs into lamentation; and I will bring up sackcloth upon all loins, and baldness upon every head; and I will make it as the mourning of an only son, and the end thereof as a bitter day.
11 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord God, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord:
12 And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the Lord, and shall not find it.
When we do not help the poor but instead use money for our own luxuries we reject Jesus the WORD. When we oppress the poor and needy in our land. WHEN WE DO NOT LOVE(HELP)OUR ENEMIES …The result will be AMOS 8:10
This is exactly what happened to Adam and Eve. They chose to go with their fleshly desires. They refused to eat from LIFE because of the cost to their flesh!!
As a result they were BANISHED FROM THE GARDEN and had to work hard to produce anything from the earth. Everything became HARD….LEAN!! God sent leanness into their soul!! They rejected the Word of God so a famine came upon their soul.
And the only way back is REPENTANCE AND FAITH IN THE WORD-JESUS CHRIST.
John came preaching a baptism of repentance and the people came to him and asked “WHAT SHALL WE DO?”
Luke 3:10 And the people asked him, saying, What shall we do then?
11 He answereth and saith unto them, He that hath two coats, let him impart to him that hath none; and he that hath meat, let him do likewise.
12 Then came also publicans to be baptized, and said unto him, Master, what shall we do?
13 And he said unto them, Exact no more than that which is appointed you.
14 And the soldiers likewise demanded of him, saying, And what shall we do? And he said unto them, Do violence to no man, neither accuse any falsely; and be content with your wages.
John was preaching the same as Jesus in his Sermon on the Mount. He was preaching the intent of the Law of God….which is to LOVE THY NEIGHBOUR AS YOU LOVE YOURSELF.
How can you say you love God if you have what your neighbour needs and do not give it?
Books are being written folks…the Watchers have their inkhorn’s in their hand. They hear us preach and they see if our actions match our message.
Do we support a political ideology that kills innocent people? Do we pray for that ideology to succeed in all they do?
Books are being written on what we DO.
Leanness of soul — a famine of hearing the word of God. Why? Because we choose the flesh rather than the words of Jesus spoken on the Mount – love your enemies!!
THEN JESUS TOLD A PARABLE WHICH YOU WOULD BE WISE TO HEED FRIEND!
Luke 6:39 And he spake a parable unto them, Can the blind lead the blind? shall they not both fall into the ditch?
The truth is that ALL who support Israel today ARE BLIND LEADING THE BLIND…AND BOTH WILL FALL INTO A DITCH
They are walking in the flesh in that area and are blinded as a result. They then hear only FALSE WORDS from their BLIND SHEPHERDS–and in the end BOTH WILL BE BANISHED FROM THE KINGDOM on that Day when Jesus judges between sheep and goats.
LET THE SWORD DO IT’S THING IN YOU
Hebrews tells us that WE ARE ALL NAKED AND OPEN TO THE EYES OF HIM TO WHOM WE MUST GIVE AN ACCOUNT.
Heb 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
13 Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.
If you have read this and see that your life and actions do not give you confidence before God on that day–then allow God’s word to sift your beliefs…allow God to reveal to you whether you are in error or are being taught things that will DISQUALIFY YOU if you follow them.
How can you get into Jesus Kingdom if you do not love God’s enemies?
The flesh will always choose AGAINST what COSTS YOU. To eat from the tree of life is to lay down your life for God’s enemies. The flesh would rather see God’s enemies perish…starve…bombed….bulldozed…left for dead…removed from their land…demonised…..abandoned….ALL THE THINGS THAT ISRAEL DOES TODAY.
