Modern man is determined to “advance” himself – or so he calls it but is it an advance or a step backwards?
To quote the author of the above linked article those who connect their brains to a machine will be “gifted with enhanced cognitive performance, and increased productivity in the workplace and beyond.”
Jesus said :
8 At that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, “Who then is greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”
2 Then Jesus called a little child to Him, set him in the midst of them, 3 and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. 4 Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 18 nkjv
Will having “enhanced cognitive performance, and increased productivity” lead to humility or pride? Apostle Paul tells us knowledge puffs us up.
8 Now concerning things offered to idols: We know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffs up, but love edifies. 2 And if anyone thinks that he knows anything, he knows nothing yet as he ought to know. 3 But if anyone loves God, this one is known by Him.1 Cor 8

Interesting. To make natural is the first meaning. Knowledge is something that belongs to the “natural man” not the “spirit man“. [Note: I use the term man here for all people]
Love however is not of the natural man…love is of God…ie spiritual.
7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. 8 He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. 9 In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him.I John 4
Love is from God — For God is Love!
To know God is to know Love.
To know Love is to Love.
Being BORN OF GOD is to be ONE WITH GOD.
When John wrote that we might live through Him(Jesus)…he was saying that to be born again is to live in union with God who is love.
The born again person is one with Love and flows with Love Himself –he/she cannot help it…love is his or her new nature.
Being one spirit with Jesus means we are one with God. Our spirit person–the real substance of who we are is GOD through Jesus in us. It is not dependant on any KNOWLEDGE coming from the intellect…not at all!
Those who join themselves with Jesus Christ through believing and confessing that Jesus is the son of God are joined to Love. It does not matter about your IQ…or your social status…your income…the colour of your skin. Jesus the son of the Father makes you ONE WITH GOD simply by an act of His kindness.
In John 9 we read about a man who was born bling being healed by Jesus. The Jews(religious leaders) were divided among themselves about Jesus because such a notable miracle could only be granted by God –yet some refused to believe Jesus was from God because He did the miracle on the Sabbath.
The man who was healed of his blindness testified of Jesus to their faces…
28 Then they reviled him and said, “You are His disciple, but we are Moses’ disciples. 29 We know that God spoke to Moses;as for this fellow,we do not know where He is from.”John 9
They plainly state their reason for rejecting Jesus is based upon knowledge. They say they know God spoke to Moses…how do they know, were they there? No they read about it and were told it by Teachers. It was an intellectual knowing.
They did not know where Jesus was from. God had hidden his birthplace from them. They thought he was from Nazareth –so this blew a fuse in their minds because the Messiah does not come from Nazareth but Bethlehem.
Intellectual knowledge of the Scriptures which they studied from youth was blinding them to the Messiah’s presence among them.
They did not link the verse in Isaiah 9 which shows that the Messiah does come forth from the coastal region of Nazareth.
15 “The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, By the way of the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles: 16 The people who sat in darkness have seen a great light, And upon those who sat in the region and shadow of death Light has dawned.”Matt 4
The thing I am pointing out however is that they were exalting Scriptural BRAIN knowledge over heart knowledge.
This is what Jesus was meaning when he said we must be converted and become like one of these little children.
WHOEVER HUMBLES HIMSELF like this little child.
But the spirit of this world pushes us to EXALT OURSELVES.
The drive to be one with a machine is that same old attempt to exalt ourselves…to be godlike..to be a super human..ENHANCED.
What is points to is a REFUSAL TO BE THANKFUL for how God made us. It points to a rejection of our weakness and inability as if it is something to be ashamed of.
That shame leads to self exaltation so we feel better about our self.
Friend God created you weak on purpose!
We are created to NEED JESUS CHRIST.
He is to be our spirit centre…our very life and nature.
LOVE!!
Not knowledge…not super powers…but love.
And what is this Love….it is a self sacrificing love…
Love yourself as God loves you–warts and weaknesses and inabilities –love your self.
Love your enemies….pray for them…bless those who curse you…bless.
That is considered abhorrent and a weakness to those who believe in super humans.
The author is correct when he says there may come a division between those who join with the machine mind and those who do not.
There already is a division!!
Those who choose Love and those who choose knowledge are already divided.
Those who pursue the things of this world and it’s applause are already separated from those who seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness.
The proud leaders knew the Law back the front and through and through but they did not know God and His son standing right in front of them.
They were offended at Jesus because wisdom flowed from his mouth with authority….
“Where did this Man get this wisdom and these mighty works? …. Where then did this Man get all these things?” So they were offended at Him.Mtt 13:54-57
Jesus is ONE WITH FATHER….That is the source of his wisdom and ours.
46 The officers answered, “No man ever spoke like this Man!”
47 Then the Pharisees answered them, “Are you also deceived? 48 Have any of the rulers or the Pharisees believed in Him? 49 But this crowd that does not know the law is accursed.”John 7 nkjv
There they go again, these super enhanced knowledgable Pharisees exalted themselves over the crowd who did not know the Law like they did…Oh dear!
50 Nicodemus (he who came to Jesus by night, being one of them) said to them, 51 “Does our law judge a man before it hears him and knows what he is doing?”
52 They answered and said to him, “Are you also from Galilee? Search and look, for no prophet has arisen out of Galilee.”John 7 nkjv
As I quoted above–The Scriptures do show that a prophet arises out of Galilee. Isa 9:15,16.
For all their enhanced knowledge they knew NOTHING that is worth knowing.
The same will still happen with all those humans who gladly accept joining their brain with artificial intelligence internally.
As clever as Man is – he has become foolish because for all his knowledge God is still not in the picture.
Man has rejected himself and thus his creator as well choosing rather to worship himself. Thus God has given man over to his own idolatry.
This will of course lead to man making a superman…something most will and do already worship.
