There is no “going to heaven” to see Jesus–Jesus is in you right now–if you believe into Jesus.
There is no “going to Hell”—Gehenna/Torment is right now–if you refuse to believe into Jesus
Generation after generation of God’s children have lived their lives trying to be like Jesus in the hope that they would one day die and go to heaven so that they will see Jesus. But the Bible does not support such ideas.
First of all….you have no life of your own with which to try to be like Jesus.
When you died with Christ on the Cross you lost any life you imagined to be your own. The only life you have is Christ. Col 3:3
Secondly, whoever said that we must try?
We are to rest into the One who lives in us. We are to abide in Him–not try. The branch can do NOTHING of itself. Trying is the opposite of how Life is. Life just is. No amount of trying does anything. But because we imagine that we have a life separate from God which we must try to conform to His perfection…we try very hard to make this imagined self life perfect. It is dung!! It is rejecting Jesus who alone is the very life you have inside yourself.
Thirdly, why do you think you are NOT like Jesus right now?
God in His pro-knowing has conformed you to the image of of His son.
Rom 8:29 For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.
God has conformed-–PAST TENSE-you to the image and likeness of Jesus! The little words in italics–to be- as in to be conformed are NOT IN THE ORIGINAL, that’s why they are italicised. The translators could not handle the truth that God HAS already conformed the believer to the very same image and likeness of Jesus. So they added in the future tense idea – to be – in order to fit their preconceived ideas based in total UNBELIEF.
Did not God say Let us make man in our image and in our likeness? Did He do that or not?
God says plain as day right here, that He has conformed you to the image of His son. Believe it and declare it out loud.
I am conformed to the very same image as Jesus–not by trying–but by God’s doing.
Then look and be amazed at what the Greek word translated here as conformed actually means.

summorphos —— jointly formed!!
The word means jointly formed. It means: two sharing the same form! You and Jesus in one body!!
Let me give an example. If you pour water into a glass Jug. Someone may say that is “a jug of water.” True. But it is also true to ask for the water. “Pass the water to me please.” There is no need to mention the jug which contains the water. The two are one.
You are a jug of water — but you contain all of Jesus.
Inside your body dwells your spirit. But your spirit is ONE SPIRIT with Jesus. There is a merging of the two into ONE. Spirit soul and body are the image and likeness of Jesus RIGHT HERE and RIGHT NOW….by faith.
1Co 6:17 But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him. (italic words not in original)
Truth: Your one spirit is in the heavens where Jesus is right now. False: You imagine Him to be far away sitting on a throne next to God in a place called heaven? Where did you get such an idea?
Jesus dwells in your heart. Your heart is the throne of God. Your body is made from earth. Heaven and earth are ONE in the human. God in you. Not God far away!!
