I have a beautiful wonderful wife and four children that I love very much. Our children are adults now but that doesn’t stop me from hugging them in a loving embrace whenever we come together again. I was bigger in body than they were when they were young children and my hugs would swallow them up. Nowadays they are my size and bigger! There is nothing like a hug is there. A young sister in the Lord came to our home a few days ago. I had not seen her for a while, so when I did, we hugged and embraced each other. It was lovely. My wife was also there, so I hugged on her as well.
An embrace is a comforting thing — an action of love and affection
The Hebrew word חָבַק
châbaq according to Strong’s Dictionary means: to embrace; to clasp in embrace; to enfold.
Gen_29:13 Then it came to pass, when Laban heard the report about Jacob his sister’s son, that he ran to meet him, and embraced him and kissed him, and brought him to his house. So he told Laban all these things.
Gen_33:4 But Esau ran to meet him, and embraced him, and fell on his neck and kissed him, and they wept.
Gen_48:10 Now the eyes of Israel were dim with age, so that he could not see. Then Joseph brought them near him, and he kissed them and embraced them.
Act_20:1 After the uproar had ceased, Paul called the disciples to himself, embraced them, and departed to go to Macedonia.
Webster’s 1936 Dictionary –FOLD
To lay or clasp together, to lay close to the body; as, the bird folds it’s wings. To enclose within,or as if within, folds; to envelop; embrace ; surround. To become folded, plaited or doubled. A part laid over another part. To pen up, enclosure, a flock of sheep, the church.
Our God and Father folds us into Himself, we are plaited together with Him...we are enfolded within God! We have been enveloped in Father….we are surrounded on all sides inside and out…..A three FOLD chord is not easily broken. We have been made one with Him inside of Jesus! When Laban, Esau and Jacob saw family members they drew them near and embraced them in a hug, enfolding them to their body and kissing them with affection. This is the picture of God and his children. Jesus took up little children and embraced them. He also embraces us bigger children!!
Webster’s 1936 – Embrace
To clasp in the arms; hence to cherish; love. To encircle;enclose. To take in hand; to undertake. To receive readily, to welcome; to avail oneself of, as to embrace an opportunity. To take up, to adopt; as to adopt a soldier’s life. To include as parts of a whole; to comprehend; to take in. A close encircling with the arms; a clasp.
Webster’s 1936 -Clasp
To fasten together with. To cling or entwine about; to surround, to enwrap; to embrace;
Oh my goodness!! This is what Father does with His children. Father has clasped His arms around me, cherishing me in His Love and Father encircles me and encloses me inside of Himself readily receiving me and welcoming me in His loving embrace. Father avails Himself of me and has taken the opportunity I always give Him to be my only life. Father has adopted my as His own and I am His opportunity to be seen and known by others. I am included in God for God has encircled me within His arms forever. I am fastened together to Father by the bond of Love who is Jesus alive in my heart. I cling to Father and He clings to me we are always embracing one another and are entwined about on every level- spirit soul and body. I am enwrapped about in folds of God Himself! And not only that but God my Father has taken ME in hand and promises to UNDERTAKE me…..not just undertake for me….but to UNDERTAKE ME. He carries me, lives me, puts me forth, leads me, directs my every step and empowers me. All that I am I am inside of Him.
The Greek word epipipto appears 14 times in the KJV New Testament
G1968 – ἐπιπίπτω
FELL: Luk_1:12, Luk_15:20, Act_10:10, Act_10:44, Act_11:15, Act_13:11, Act_19:17, Act_20:10, Act_20:37, Rom_15:3
Luk 15:20 “So the young son set off for home. From a long distance away, his father saw him coming, dressed as a beggar, and great compassion swelled up in his heart for his son who was returning home. So the father raced out to meet him. He swept him up in his arms, hugged him dearly, and kissed him over and over with tender love. [The Passion Translation]
This is our constant reality–A Father who embraces us…His compassion swells in His heart for us…and comes forth in great surges of love.
The SPIRIT’S EMBRACE
The Holy Spirit fell upon or EMBRACED and enfolded Himself around, and clasped within, all those who heard and believed the message of forgiveness of sins through Jesus Christ.
Act 10:44 While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon[epipipto] all those who heard the word.
Act 10:45 And those of the circumcision who believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles also.
Act 10:46 For they heard them speak with tongues and magnify God. Then Peter answered,
Act 10:47 “Can anyone forbid water, that these should not be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?”
NEW BELIEVERS EMBRACED AND HUGGED BY HOLY SPIRIT
These people believed in Jesus and so were baptised in His name. BUT they still had NOT received the Holy Spirit!! Others had to come pray for and lay hands upon them for them to receive the SPIRIT FALLING UPON THEM.
Act 8:12 But when they believed Philip as he preached the things concerning the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, both men and women were baptized.
Act 8:14 Now when the apostles who were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent Peter and John to them,
Act 8:15 who, when they had come down, prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit.
Act 8:16 For as yet He had fallen upon[epipipto] none of them. They had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
Act 8:17 Then they laid hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.
Act 8:18 And when Simon saw that through the laying on of the apostles’ hands the Holy Spirit was given,
Today their are millions like this…they have ONLY been baptised in the name of Jesus and as yet the HOLY SPIRIT HAS NOT FALLEN UPON THEM….THEY have not yet received Him….
He longs to embrace them, but they will not let Him. They tell God that they have all that there is to have of Him even though this example screams otherwise at them.
The Secrets of the Lord are revealed in this embrace
Joh 13:25 Then, leaning back[epipipto] on Jesus’ breast, he said to Him, “Lord, who is it?”
John was in the embrace of Jesus….He was enfolded in Him and plaited together with Him. Such is the one who has received the EMBRACE of the Holy Spirit
The dead raised and revived at the midnight hour
Act 20:7 Now on the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul, ready to depart the next day, spoke to them and continued his message until midnight.
Act 20:8 There were many lamps in the upper room where they were gathered together.
This is a prophetic picture of the Church in the last days–the midnight hour. Someone sent me this passage recently
Matthew 25:4, 6-10
But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. …6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.9 But the wise answered, saying, lest there be not enough for us and you: go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.
Act 20:9 And in a window sat a certain young man named Eutychus, who was sinking into a deep sleep. He was overcome by sleep; and as Paul continued speaking[was long in preaching kjv], he fell down from the third story and was taken up dead.
This young brother sat in a window–speaking of his own individual life story. The prophetic word is that he was sinking down into deep sleep–a spiritual torpor . Deep here is from base- meaning to walk. His walk was carrying him and bearing him DOWN into a spiritual torpor. Sleep here is from “hupnos” akin to hupo = beneath and underneath.. sleep–figuratively spiritual torpor…he fell from the third story! Speaks of the Third feast and the third heaven.
Webster’s 1936 Torpor
To be torpid. Suspended animation, dormancy, sluggishness or stagnation of function. Mental or spiritual sluggishness or apathy.
Torpid – to be stiff. Having lost motion or the power of exertion and feeling, a hibernating animal; dormant; numb; lacking in energy or vim, dull;stupid; apathetic.
Luk 21:34 “But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly.
The enemy seeks to saturate our minds with heaviness and fear so we take our eyes off Jesus and onto our self to make self the source of strength instead of Jesus.
Mar 13:35 Watch therefore, for you do not know when the master of the house is coming—in the evening, at midnight, at the crowing of the rooster, or in the morning—
Mar 13:36 lest, coming suddenly, he find you sleeping.
Mar 13:37 And what I say to you, I say to all: Watch!”Rom 13:10 Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.
Rom 13:11 And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed.
Rom 13:12 The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light.
Rom 13:13 Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy.
Rom 13:14 But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.
This young man Eutychus represents the situation we all face–that of falling down into a spiritual torpor and becoming sluggish stiff and dormant. Like a tree that has no sap, like a bear overcome with sleep. This is the normal thing that happens when the things of life are too hard for us to cope with. Sleep is an escape, but sleep like that never satisfies –we awake still asleep and heavy. Our feelings are all depressed. We cannot look after ourself properly. We become despondent and deadened! He fell out of the window and died!! The church at the midnight hour is like this boy. And the Spirit through Paul says IT IS HIGH TIME TO AWAKE OUT OF SLEEP!! High time is the midnight hour AWAKE AWAKE THE BRIDEGROOM COMETH!!
THE ANSWER —PUT ON THE LORD JESUS CHRIST!! Be found inside of His embrace!! Be found inside of His arms–carrying you and living the LIFE as you. Do not hang onto your own ability to face the trials ahead or now…for that surely shall be a heavy burden you simply cannot carry–nor are you meant to try…BUT PUT ON THE LORD JESUS CHRIST over all your inability and weakness and know the carrying upholding of the Lord Himself as He lives you all the way to the end of the race.
The third heaven and the third feast
Eutychus fell down from the third storey.. In other words prophetically, it is a falling from the POSITION we have inside the Holy of Holies. Not in reality but in our imagination. The majority of the church live in their understanding in the holy place OUTSIDE of the Holy of Holies. In actual fact ALL CHRISTIANS live inside the HOLY OF HOLIES because Jesus Christ has brought them near to God, into His embrace. But through giving heed to the law based “gospel” where all is our responsibility we fall from grace [only in our mind] and put ourselves under the Law or sin and death again even though we are not there at all.
The third feast in the experience of Israel is Succot or Tabernacles when they would dwell in booths under the stars for 8 days. The third heaven is the place where Paul was caught up to. Tabernacles is being found ONLY inside of Jesus inside of Father. You are inside the Holy of Holies permanently. Your heart is the very throne of God. You are in heaven even as you are on earth. But this is all by faith. The accuser works hard to keep people living outside this reality by pointing at their flesh and their failures—to which we answer that Jesus our High Priest has atoned for us completely and we are found only inside of Him.
The story in Acts 20 continues
PAUL WENT DOWN
Act 20:10 But Paul went down, fell on him[epipipto], and embracing him[sumperilambanō] said, “Do not trouble yourselves, for his life is in him.”
Act 20:11 Now when he had come up, had broken bread and eaten, and talked a long while, even till daybreak, he departed.
Act 20:12 And they brought the young man in alive, and they were not a little comforted.
In these last days when many brethren are down in the dumps, depressed and in a spiritual torpor WE GO DOWN to them in humility and we EMBRACE THEM….we fall upon them and entwine ourselves with them, receiving them as we would receive Jesus, respecting them and honouring them all. The very life of God in us is imparted to them through the only message we have–CHRIST IS IN YOU BROTHER–SISTER…CHRIST JESUS IS IN YOU AND IT IS HE THAT HAS LIFTED YOU UP THIS DAY AND SEATED YOU INSIDE OF HIS THRONE. You are an overcomer and inherit all things through believing in Jesus. Allow God to embrace you…Allow Father to fall upon you….Allow Jesus to hug you with his affection and love.
This is the Word that revives those who have fallen down from grace…the word of faith. That we are as He is, and that He has come to live fully in our hearts and has taken us through the veil that is his flesh into the Holy of Holies where we forever dwell inside our Lord and Saviour Jesus. Every time I have fallen and dwelt in death the only word that has brought me back to my senses has been the word of the third heaven the word of the third feast. When I in my worst state utter the truth of my position in Him as my real current condition—I come back to life(even tho in actuality I never left life). And I know of no other person speaking Paul’s gospel in it’s purity as Brother Daniel Yordy from Houston Texas.
Paul sumperilambanōed the boy
The NKJV says “embracing him” —it is a word only used once in the Bible – sumperilambanō
Thayer Definition:
1) to comprehend at once
2) to embrace completely
James Strong:
to take by enclosing altogether,
that is, earnestly throw the arms about one: – embrace.
The word is 3 part composite word made up of “sun” – “peri”and “lambano”
Sun–denoting union with or together
peri– through all, over, around,
lambano — to take, to get hold of
Prophetically those who are abiding in Jesus and know that He is abiding in them fully embrace our brethren and our union together as the body of Jesus. We may only be able to do this through our faith declarations for the one who is in a torpor refuses to get anywhere near us. But even as we do declare the truth about them through the eyes of Jesus –which are our eyes now–they are REVIVED and brought to their senses again.
Healing from plagues in the EMBRACE OF JESUS
Mar 3:10 For he had healed many; insomuch that they pressed upon him [epipipto] for to touch him, as many as had plagues.
In the EMBRACE OF JESUS…and by EMBRACING JESUS yourself healing flows from Him to you. This is the Lord’s doing and it is marvelous in our eyes!! This can happen alone in your home as you embrace Jesus there….He shall heal you in His presence. It can happen through another believer filled with Jesus–dwelling in His embrace–coming to you where you are and laying hands upon you—healing flows.= like rivers.
My heart’s desire is that you allow the Lord your God to EMBRACE YOU RIGHT NOW!!
Right now open your heart to receive the EMBRACE and hug of the Spirit of Jesus as His compassion and love for you wells up in a great surge of power ready to fall upon your heart and soul and body. Open your mouth and ask Jesus Christ to fill you now with His Holy Spirit…Dear Lord Jesus I do not want to resist you any more! I need you! Oh I need you to fill me full with your Spirit. Fall upon me now Lord!! Send someone to pray over me and lay their hands upon me that I too may have You epipipto me –fall upon and embrace me!
And finally here is a story of this happening in India when I was sent there by the Lord….
In the book of Acts many times we are told that the Holy Spirit fell upon the people and the result of that “falling” upon them was great joy and rejoicing.
Act 8:14 Now when the apostles who were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent Peter and John to them,
Act 8:15 who, when they had come down, prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit.
Act 8:16 For as yet He had fallen upon none of them. They had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
Act 8:17 Then they laid hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.
Act 8:18 And when Simon saw that through the laying on of the apostles’ hands the Holy Spirit was given, he offered them money,
These people heard the gospel preached and believed upon Jesus Christ…then they were baptised in water in the name of Jesus….BUT they had NOT YET received the Holy Spirit so the Apostles prayed and laid hands upon them and they all received Him –HE FELL UPON THEM.
The Greek word used here for “fall upon” is epipiptō and it means: to embrace (with affection) or seize (with more or less violence; literally or figuratively): – fall into (on, upon), lie on, press upon.
If you are a believer in Jesus but have never had the Holy Spirit fall into or upon you, never had Him press upon you or lie on you or embrace you in a big loving hug then you need someone filled with the Spirit to lay hands on you.
I would be glad to come to you wherever you are and do just that. God has used me many times to be the instrument of His loving embrace.
Many will argue that they have received all of the Spirit that there is to receive. I understand that position well, but you simply cannot argue with this passage in Acts. These were all new believers in Jesus…but they were only baptised in water–NOT THE SPIRIT.
Perhaps you need to come down off your high position which is contrary to God’s word and ask someone to pray and lay hands upon you. That humility will open the way for you to receive His embrace.
In India one time on the very day of Pentecost a young man heard me preaching on the main street of the city of Guntur in Andrha Pradesh. He had just completed 3 years of Bible training and desired to be an evangelist. Now he happened to be walking by when I was sent to preach at the same spot for the Lord had spoken to me earlier in the day to preach in the city instead of going out to a village far away.
After I preached I turned around and a small gathering of people were waiting to be prayed for. Right there on the street people were healed of ailments and some were born again. The young Bible student came to me and told me his desire to be an evangelist but that he does not have the boldness and power that he sees in me. I laughed and said “it is the HOLY SPIRIT ON ME not me myself brother!” I asked him if he realised that today is Pentecost? No he said. I told him that God had sent me to preach here tonight so that you could receive the same Holy Spirit power that his disciples received long ago. I asked if he wanted that? His eyes grew big and as he was saying “yes!” a mighty SURGE OF THE SPIRIT OF JESUS came upon us both and he fell down instantly speaking in other tongues and praising God!! I caught him as he fell and together we praised Jesus in other languages.
It was a glorious thing. That brother went on his way rejoicing that God had heard his cry and sent someone from Manjimup in Australia to make sure he received the Holy Spirit as the early disciples had.
If you would like to receive the Spirit of Jesus in this way then call me or email me
I recorded a rant on this subject the next day -6th April
