It surprises me to learn that many Jesus believers do not sense any oppression from the spirit realm at all…ever. Perhaps it is how they are wired, perhaps it is to do with callings and giftings. As for me the spiritual realm is very tangible and real to my spiritual senses. Because I sense the anointing of the Lord…and at times the oppression of the enemy…I have had to learn how to overcome the enemy and also to not trust in feelings.
We see in Scripture that feelings are a real part of walking with the Lord Jesus.
Luke 24:32 And they said to one another, “Did not our heart burn within us while He talked with us on the road, and while He opened the Scriptures to us?”
The Greek word translated as “burn” is kaiō–and means to set on fire, that is, kindle or (by implication) consume: – burn, light. Weymouth’s version renders the verse like this: “Were not our hearts,” they said to one another, “burning within us while He talked to us on the way and explained the Scriptures to us?” Luk 24:32
What does it feel like to have your heart burning within you? Have you felt it?Do you know the feeling of having your heart on fire, kindled by the Word of God? Jesus walked with them, and as He walked He was sharing Words of Life with their hearts. The anointing of the Spirit is like a fire….it burns up the chaff. It sets our hearts on fire , consumed by the Love God has for us. It can be felt….hearts burning…..it is not heat that is hot like a physical flame produces…but it is a feeling in the chest and neck….The anointing is like when you have had a peppermint in your mouth, and afterwards when you breath in…their is fresh feeling in your mouth and throat. The anointing can feel that way too.
For no apparent reason to me, I will sometimes feel His anointing in my heart….perhaps it is when people are praying blessing for me? Perhaps I have indigestion? No way!! I have learned what is the Lord and what is not.
I have written about psychic energy elsewhere. It can be felt. It can manifest in your body as a headache, a tight band around the head….or a piercing pain in one spot on your head….or like someone drilling a hole in your skull. It can be a sickly feeling…it can be a foggy mind, hard to think clearly….it can manifest as anger and grumpiness….it can be like an itchy prickly feeling on the scalp. All these manifestations I have endured for 30 years now and have had to learn to overcome and to pray through these things.
If you have any kind of prophetic calling on your life, you will most likely sense these things as well.
I remember years ago, when I was a new Christian..I went to my church , getting there late because of work commitments. A prophetic minister was there that day, he prophesied over Margaret Court –this was in 1989– and since then all he said has come to pass in her life. She was not pastoring a church then. Anyway, so this prophet laid hands upon me and said–“I see you have been on the back foot a little lately….God wants to get you up on your toes, wants to get you fighting…rise up, rise up!!”
Since that time I have been locked into many battles with the enemy mostly without knowing what it is all about. But the Lord trains us regardless of whether we know He is or not. All our life experiences are a part of that training. Being filled with the Holy Spirit is essential to overcoming the enemy–for he is far too clever and powerful for us without the Holy Spirit.
There are many people connected directly with each of us…most we will never meet in this life. Yet they are connected by God’s doing. Our faith in Jesus(which is really His faith in us) impacts upon their lives and their destinies. We are for the setting free of the nations. We are the warriors of the Lord Jesus, the mighty men(& women) of David. Jesus our commander and Chief leads us into many battlefields against the enemies of God. He is always triumphant for the Victory is already won!
On the Cross Jesus prevailed against every demonic being, every Prince of darkness, every fallen angel. Jesus triumphed gloriously, the horse and the rider are cast into the sea and we ride exultantly with Jesus as our only Life…and we His beautiful bride.
There is not an enemy that can stand against us, for Jesus is in our hearts and rivers of living water are flowing out of our bellies. When the enemy oppresses. I and many many other warriors are alerted by the ONE Holy Spirit who joins us all together in one body. We will be at work, at home, driving a car, whatever, and our spirit man, our inner man is alerted to the demonic oppression.
Don’t make the mistake of thinking it is about you personally. It may be on the surface, but you are God’s child, His chosen one. He has gifted you this way, so that as you fight off the attacks, you are not only getting free yourself…but are loosing the chains of darkness and oppression off many many others at the same time!!
We think “Oh I am under attack!!”…..God wants to get you up on your spiritual toes, like a boxer, wants to get you fighting!!
Now the thing about spiritual warfare is that the VICTORY IS ALREADY WON. We do not fight as if we need to win….we have won…and our fight is from the position of having already won.
James —the half brother of Jesus wrote in his latter…
“Submit yourselves to God, Resist the Devil and he will flee from you. James 4:7
How do we submit ourselves to God? Many will teach that it is by repenting of everything we know of that we have done wrong. But may I suggest that you are washed by the blood of Jesus all the time and are the righteousness of God all the time. Not because you repent…but because Jesus lives in your heart.
Submitting to God is to agree with God
Agreeing with God is how we submit to Him. God says you are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. Agree and declare it. God says you are accepted inside the beloved Jesus. Agree and thereby submit to God. God says you are redeemed by the blood of the Lamb…Agree and declare it. By declaring the truth, you overcome the enemy. The truth must be believed….and all beliefs need to come out of our mouths in bold declarations! Boldly declare you are a child of God. Boldly declare you are washed and clean by the blood of Jesus! Boldly declare that you are hidden with Christ inside of God. By agreeing with God in His New Covenant, you stand in the established victory of Jesus.
The enemy brings his oppression upon you, as he is doing to many others linked to you….so that you will speak defeat and death and unbelief out of your mouth because of the oppressing feelings. But that is our opportunity to sing and dance and praise Jesus more! We can give thanks for the Devil because all he succeeds in doing is driving us deeper and deeper into Jesus!!
This is how we resist the Devil. He is desperately trying to get us to speak words of unbelief and death over ourselves and everything else. WE resist the Devil as JAmes 4:7 says, by speaking boldly the truth about ourselves and others...despite what we feel, or hear or see.
Jesus Christ has come in the flesh
The Apostle John declared amazing things…a lot of which have been twisted by the unbelief inside Christianity.
1Jn 4:1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
1Jn 4:2 By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, (New King James)
Some people doing deliverance ministry try to make demons confess that Jesus came in the flesh long ago. But this verse is not about that! It is speaking about preachers! A prophet is an inspired preacher. I am preaching to you here. A prophet does not have to mean someone who tells the future. Preachers are prophets in that sense that they are speaking words they claim are from God. Big responsibility right? I preach because I must preach….or I will burst!! Ok…having said that…Apostle John said that “By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God….
Here is the test. A true prophet of God will be preaching that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh. So what do people do? They talk about Jesus long ago coming to the earth from a faraway heaven….doing some stuff and leaving again. But this verse is not about Jesus coming a long time ago….it is about Jesus Christ in your flesh!!
Jesus Christ has come to your fleshy body and become your Life….your source…your spirit!! True preachers who are of God, preach nothing else!! The King James Version says…
1Jn 4:2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the fleshis of God:
Jesus Christ IS come….the word come is a present tense verb. That is why the KJV says Jesus is come in the flesh!! Not did come, but is come. Right now inside your heart Jesus Christ is come in the flesh!! Your flesh!! Jesus Christ is your flesh…your flesh is the flesh of Jesus Christ!! This is the Gospel!!
Then John tells us – if we have ears to hear –
1Jn 4:3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
Every spirit..that is, every preacher…who preaches NOT that Jesus is come in your flesh…is not of God, but is that spirit of antichrist. Almost all preachers preach a Jesus long ago….few preach that Jesus is come in the flesh. Is means NOW!! Now today…now tomorrow..now forever, in all the nows’ future and past. God is, God was and God will be. But God is always NOW.
And Jesus is come to dwell inside your fleshy body, in your fleshy heart.
Eph 3:17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
Those preachers who preach a Jesus far away in heaven up there, are preaching antichrist to you. Jesus is in your heart.
We know that John is talking about this because he goes on to say…
1Jn 4:4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
Those spirits preaching and confessing a Jesus not in their flesh….are of the world….and we have overcome them….because greater is He that is in you.….than he that is in the world. Do you see that? John is proving to you that he was talking about Jesus Christ in your flesh now. He says greater is he that is in you. This Jesus Christ who is come in the flesh…IS IN YOU!!
Stop imagining Jesus up in some heaven….Repent of that image…believe the truth sister, brother!! Believe God’s word and prosper! Jesus Christ IS COME in the flesh–YOUR FLESH.
Then John reaffirms what he has said….
1Jn 4:5 They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them.
The “they” he speaks of are those preaching a Jesus NOT in your flesh now. They preach a Jesus back then, a Jesus up there, a Jesus far away… a Jesus some day……BUT DEFINITELY NOT a Jesus in your flesh right now!!
1Jn 4:6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.
“He that knoweth God”…..Not knows about God, or about a Jesus back then…but who knows God in their heart!! Jesus in your heart always wins over a Jesus in your mind. If you will know ONLY that Jesus Who is living in your heart, you will hear and receive the words I am speaking to you John said..and I say the same. Sadly, almost all Christians do not hear what I and others preaching Jesus in your flesh are confessing. They think we are antichrist….when in actuality it is those preaching a Jesus NOT in your flesh who are antichrist.
They HAVE JESUS living inside their hearts because they are born again having believed into Jesus. But they have been indoctrinated in their minds by religious definitions and doctrines of devils masqarading as Christian teaching!
The far away Jesus versus the Jesus in your heart. Who is the true Jesus? I know which one. Do you?
The far away Jesus that is preached by the worldly minded prophets does not lift a finger to help you serve God. He is waiting to come back one day so he can judge you for all your failings or reward you for all your good things. The far away Jesus says ‘you are responsible to try to be like Me.’
The Jesus Christ who IS come in the flesh is living as you in all your daily living. It is Jesus washing dishes, Jesus and you together in all things…He is always carrying you in everything you do together. He takes full responsibility for you and your needs. He has forgiven you all your sins and made you to sit with Him in His Father’s throne—-which just happens to be your HEART!!
This Jesus Who is come into your flesh has made you perfect in God, washed and cleansed by His blood every moment of every moment! You and Jesus are ONE….in fact as He is, so are you…right now and forever more!!
This is how we overcome the oppressor friend….we confess that Jesus Christ is come into our flesh—to dwell in us and be us. We make Galatians 2:20 personal and now–speak it out loud about yourself.
Gal 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
