Have you heard the phrase– “United we stand – Divided we fall” ? This is true individually as well as corporately. The double minded person shall not receive anything from the Lord for he is unstable in all his ways. To solve this God has united our hearts that we might walk with Him.
David prayed for a united heart.
Psa 86:11
Teach me thy way, O LORD;
I will walk in thy truth:
unite my heart to fear thy name.
The Hebrew word yachad is translated as unite in this verse.It means to be (or become) one: – join, unite. Thus some other versions render it like this…
….make my heart all one with thyne, that it may feare thy name. (Bishops)…. knit mine heart vnto thee, that I may feare thy Name. (Geneva)….Make my heart undivided to fear your name.(WEB)
The mind may dwell in an agitated state vascillating between two opinions, confused..BUT THE HEART has been healed of division through the Cross of Jesus.God has given you an undivided heart that you may worship/KNOW Him.
God has united your heart –Has joined your heart–Has knit your heart together with Himself.1Co 6:17 But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit. (web)
When we imagine our heart to be anything different than Jesus very own heart—we walk in an unstable way. But God HAS -past tense- healed you of division. He has done away with the enmity that was your heart, He has brought you near to Himself through the blood of Jesus…You have access to Father’s heart through Jesus heart now being yours.Heart inside heart inside heart!
John 14:20 In that day you will know that I am inside of My Father, and you inside of Me and I inside of you. (jsv)You are inside Jesus heart and Jesus is inside your heart…and Jesus is inside Father’s heart, and Father is inside Jesus heart – Together you are one, united, knit together heart! This is who you are. United with Jesus inside Father’s heart. You are abiding inside Him and He is abiding inside you.
Of course the Accuser does not want you believing the truth of your union with Jesus heart. Thus he constantly tries to cause you to reject your new heart by accusing your behaviour as proof you have a dirty, ‘separated-from-Jesus’ heart. How could your heart be one heart with Jesus if you do this and do that….The blood of Jesus!! The death and resurrection of you inside Jesus!
Your old divided heart which was at enmity with Father died. Now you have a new heart in union with Him.
A heart divided against itself cannot stand. But you stand in the very presence of the Father constantly. Your heart is one with His. God has caused you to be able to stand before Him in full holiness and purity for your heart is washed and clean before Him.
