Yom Kippur approaches

Yom Kippur begins tonight at sundown 18th Sept.

In the days between Rosh Hashana- Jewish new year and Yom Kippur- observant Jews spend time repenting of their sins. These days are known as the days of Awe. This introspection is meant to bring a sense of awe and reverence for God on the most holy day of the year, the day of Atonement or Yom Kippur.

Kippur simply means covering.

On Yom Kippur God forgave the nation’s sins for one more year.

Yet for the believer in Jesus we know that He fulfilled what the High priest of the Old Covenant did with only the blood of animals.

Jesus is become a High Priest of a better priesthood than Aaron. Jesus is a priest according to Melchizedek, One that lasts for all ages.

Aaron’s priesthood finished. The Levitical priesthood also HSS finished being superseded by Jesus the ONLY High Priest and King of Judah.

Our high priest does not need to offer sacrifices for Himself for He is without sin. Our High priest Jesus does not need to offer sacrifices for the nations every year ANYMORE because He had already completed the sacrificial work at the cross.

By His own blood Jesus the Messiah entered into the Holiest of all and sprinkled it upon Gods mercy seat in heaven.

Bexause Christ did that for ALL people all people are now reconciled to God for all their sins are forgiven through that blood.

No need to sacrifice animals anymore…in fact to do so is an abomination in the sight of God.

Tbus any third Temple where animal sacrifice is again given is an abomination that makes desolate. Jesus the Messiah has already totally satisfied the requirements of the Law of God in His sacrifice and blood

His blood more than simply covers sin, it takes it away for good!

This Yom Kippur remember Jesus…Yeshua ha Moshiac ….remember His perfect t complete sacrifice for your sins and live!
