When Jesus declared Himself to be the TRUE vine he was contrasting Himself with the FALSE vine.
Joh 15:1 “I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser.
The Vineyard of the Lord Destroyed
Isa 5:1 Now let me sing to my Well-beloved A song of my Beloved regarding His vineyard: My Well-beloved has a vineyard On a very fruitful hill.
Isa 5:2 He dug it up and cleared out its stones, And planted it with the choicest vine. He built a tower in its midst, And also made a winepress in it; So He expected it to bring forth good grapes, But it brought forth wild grapes.
Isa 5:3 “And now, O inhabitants of Jerusalem and men of Judah, Judge, please, between Me and My vineyard.
Isa 5:4 What more could have been done to My vineyard That I have not done in it? Why then, when I expected it to bring forth good grapes, Did it bring forth wild grapes?
Joh 15:4 Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.
Joh 15:5 “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.
Joh 15:6 If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.
Isa 5:5 And now, please let Me tell you what I will do to My vineyard[JUDAH]: I will take away its hedge, and it shall be burned; And break down its wall, and it shall be trampled down.
Isa 5:6 I will lay it[JUDAH] waste; It shall not be pruned or dug, But there shall come up briers and thorns. I will also command the clouds That they rain no rain on it.”
Isa 5:7 For the vineyard of the LORD of hosts is the house of Israel, And the men of Judah are His pleasant plant. He looked for justice, but behold, oppression; For righteousness, but behold, a cry for help.
Luk 13:6 He also spoke this parable: “A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard,[JUDAH] and he came seeking fruit on it and found none.
Luk 13:7 Then he said to the keeper of his vineyard, ‘Look, for three years I have come seeking fruit on this fig tree and find none. Cut it down; why does it use up the ground?’
Luk 13:8 But he answered and said to him, ‘Sir, let it alone this year also, until I dig around it and fertilize it.
Luk 13:9 And if it bears fruit, well. But if not, after that you can cut it down.’ ”
My Conclusion
Judah has been trying to bear grapes or much fruit WITHOUT ABIDING in the TRUE VINE—therefore they cannot bear any fruit unto God. God shall destroy the vineyard yet again. It was destroyed in AD 70 and since 1948 it has been given another chance to bear fruit. But again the men of Judah refuse to ABIDE IN YESHUA so therefore it will fail miserably.
We are again at the time when Isaiah 5:5-7 shall come to pass.
Daniella Goldberg was praying against what remains of the wall from the overthrow of Jerusalem. It was a prophetic sign of what is to come.
The answer for all people and especially for those of Judah is to receive Jesus or Yeshua as the TRUE VINE in which we bear true fruit unto God–sweet grapes.
