All the lost shall be found

Reading Luke chapter 15 fills us with hope, what a wonderful Saviour is Jesus who never stops searching for the lost sheep UNTIL He finds them and carries them on his shoulders all the way home to the Father.

“What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it? And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost! Lu 15:4-6 nkjv

AGAIN our Saviour tells us —as he spoke surrounded by sinners and Pharisees and tax collectors- that HE will search for lost sinners UNTIL HE FINDS US….and He will find them,…everyone last one!

“Or what woman, having ten silver [c]coins, if she loses one coin, does not light a lamp, sweep the house, and search carefully until she finds it? And when she has found it, she calls her friends and neighbors together, saying, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found the piece which I lost!’ 10 Likewise, I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”

Finally Jesus the Mighty Saviour full of mercy and grace tells them the last story depicting His desire to save the lost. He shares how all lost ones will eventually come to their senses by the grace and dealings of God…and return home to God their father.

17 “But when he came to himself, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger! 18 I will arise and go to my father, and will say to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you, 19 and I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Make me like one of your hired servants.” ’

20 “And he arose and came to his father. But when he was still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him.

The lost son no doubt thought it was his own idea to come home to the Father….but as Jesus said elsewhere no one can come to me unless the Father draws him- Jn 6:44 The Father is drawing all lost ones to come home. They may be anywhere along that same lonely wilderness journey trying to do life without God…but Jesus assures us by these stories that they shall all be found….shall all repent…eventually.

So if you have loved ones and friends you care about who have not yet come to the Father….do not doubt…only believe for the Saviour is searching…He is sweeping across the whole earth…there is no where He is not present….He will find them and bring them home—you will see—and you will rejoice!!
