God’s ways are not our ways and His thoughts are higher than our thoughts.(Isa 55) This is especially true when it comes to understanding what He has done through the New Covenant. God is wanting many sons just like Jesus and by saying sons I include women in that term as God does too.
Heb 2:10 For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.
Heb 2:11 For both He who sanctifies and those who are being sanctified are all of one, for which reason He is not ashamed to call them brethren, NKJV
The translators have a hard time believing what the New Covenant has done. They will often change the tense of words so that it appears that the work of God is yet uncompleted. But the truth is the New Covenant has made the believer perfect in God’s eyes. So we see(above) in the New King James version that we are called “those who are being sanctified” in Hebrews 2:11. Now look at the King James and the New American standard….
Heb 2:11 For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: KJV
Heb 2:11 For both He who sanctifies and those who are sanctified are all from one Father; NASB
Christian friend of mine see what the word declares of you?! YOU ARE SANCTIFIED. You know what sanctified means don’t you? Holiness. You are holy, blameless, perfect in righteousness. You have been set apart , set free from sin and Satan’s control. You are brought out of the dark kingdom and conveyed into the kingdom of light. You are sanctified!
You were justified before God through receiving Jesus Christ as your life….AND at the SAME TIME you were sanctified and made holy. Jesus Himself is sanctified and justified and now He is your sanctified and justified self.
Many are labouring needlessly(well, everything has a purpose)trying to become holy when all along they are sanctified and holy right now.
This is your truth now as a believer in Jesus. You have been justified. You have been sanctified. You are holy. You are perfect in Him.
Jesus was IN ALL THINGS MADE LIKE YOU. In order to set you free from bondage to Satan who held us prisoner through fear of death God/Jesus became flesh and blood to defeat death.
Heb 2:14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;
Heb 2:15 And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
Heb 2:16 For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham.
Heb 2:17 Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren,
It behoved Him…meaning He was under obligation to set us free and to give us aid. Why? Because God knew full well that by putting Adam and Eve in the garden with the serpent they would fall. Such advanced knowledge means that God has a responsibility under His own Law to make things right for the one He let fall into a hole. That fall resulted in the death/mortality penalty for all who followed Adam.
God was obliged to fix the mess and He has done it through Jesus.
Exo 21:33 And if a man shall open a pit, or if a man shall dig a pit, and not cover it, and an ox or an ass fall therein;
Exo 21:34 The owner of the pit shall make it good, and give money unto the owner of them; and the dead beast shall be his.
Rom 8:20 For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it in hope;
Rom 8:21 because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
God has redeemed us from the Pit and given us His own Life as our life. He has made it good and yet still will make it good.
We are as He is….and yet we still await the immortal body. But while we wait, we call those things that be not as if they are.
