We know that Jesus was/is the grain of wheat that fell into the ground. He died and was buried in the ground. When He was raised up, it was so that He would live all those who believe in Him into life.
We have believed in Jesus–the One who is always leading us to death that His life may be made manifest in us.
Joh 12:23 But Jesus answered them, saying, “The hour has come that the Son of Man should be glorified.
Joh 12:24 Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain.
Joh 12:25 He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life.
We are born again of incorruptible Seed. Jesus is that incorruptible Seed. Jesus lives fully in our hearts by faith.
He who loves his life will lose it. What life is that?
It is the Life that is not life at all. It is the self story which we grew up telling ourselves about ourselves. It is the lie. The story that says I am a capable person, able to do many things well and some things not so well. It is self deception for the person who thinks/imagines himself to be something when in fact he is nothing—deceives himself.
THe real Life is God’s ONLY Life and that Life is the Person Jesus Christ. The only way to have life is to believe in Jesus Christ. Then His life becomes your true life. Thus there are two Life’s in us—not really –it only seems that way. It seems that way because for all of our life we have told ourselves who we are and what we are.
But the Truth Himself is the ONLY LIFE we are. If we have NOT the Son of God then we have NOT LIFE.
He fell into the ground so that He may live in many–giving them Life. That Life is connection with Father Who is the ONLY LIFE.
To hang onto the self story of “I am able” is to love your life(which is only imaginary anyway). We must fall into the ground with Jesus.
When He fell into the ground we also fell with Him for we were in Him. Yet today we imagine that we are alive and able to do many things for God. Truth is we died with Him.
God will thoroughly train you in this knowledge of your self apart from Christ Jesus. You can do NOTHING for God…and NOTHING for others. You are weak and useless even though you believe in Jesus.
It is the Spirit that gives life the flesh profits nothing.
Hating our life is to totally reject the lie that you can exist separately from God. We exist only in Christ Jesus. In Him we live and move and have our being. In ourselves we cannot exist as anything. The only existence is in Christ. Any thought that rises up to do things for God comes out of the imaginary world we called ‘our life’.
We loosely say “I gave my life to Christ.” Or preachers call people to the altar to “give their life to God”.
Tell me please, what life was that which they had to give to God?
Eph 2:1 And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, …..Eph 2:5 even when we were dead in trespasses,-Eph 2:12 that at that time you were without Christ, ….. having no hope and without God in the world.
We had no life at all to give to God. He did not want your imagined life of importance. God came into your spirit giving you His life. You now live because He lives in you.
Yet we go on thinking of “our life” and “His life”. Truth is there is only one life in us. To admit that is to begin to fall into the ground and die.
Hating our life is preferring Christ’s life over the false story of “I am able”,or “I can do it”. Our biggest victories are through our greatest failures and inabilities.
When we are visibly at our weakest and dumbest Christ our ONLY LIFE is shining through us the strongest. How humiliating is that!? This is what it is to fall into the ground.
If we are busy trying hard to bear fruit for God and have not learned thoroughly this lesson–perhaps we shall hear Him say I never knew you. It seems to me that He only knows those who fall into the ground in union with Him.
For in finally accepting that your old self fell into the Ground with Jesus you share in His death. Now that you share in His death – you also share in His life! Now you are filled full with His life and are bearing fruit unto God.
You are married to Him. His Holy Seed is in you–you are His Holy Seed- for you are one with Him. You are growing up into Him–a tree of righteousness- the planting of the Lord–that He may be glorified…and you also are glorified Hidden in Him.
