If ever you want to know what God has truly called you to be and do in this current era it is found written by Paul the Apostle…
1Co 1:26 For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called.
1Co 1:27 But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty;
1Co 1:28 and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are,
1Co 1:29 that no flesh should glory in His presence.
If you are willing to place yourself into one or all of these 5 lesser categories then you are part of the thing God is doing in the universe today. Father has chosen:
- The Foolish things of the world
- The weak things of the world
- The base things of the world
- The things which are despised
- The things which are not
Imagine putting these things in your resume and approaching an employer for a job!
These five things God has chosen all speak of outer appearance versus inner substance. What appears grand outwardly is not grand at all. What appears weak outwardly is really the strength of God inwardly. Here is the exchange of the Cross of Christ Jesus.

The majority of people who would think of themselves as Wise, Mighty or Noble have great difficulty even listening to the claims of the Gospel. They do not see their need of a Saviour and thus remain outside the Kingdom. They do not know that all of their outer appearance and greatness is ALL SHOW.
Jesus said
“Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick.” Mark 9:12
and
” I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.” Luke 5:32
When a person sees by the grace of God that they are indeed sick sinners in need of a Saviour then they are drawn to Him. At that point all of their trust in outer appearance falls away.
Many preach that God wants to make us great people. Yet this is not the case at all. That kind of message comes out of the false self whose father is Lucifer. It is a blindness of the darkest kind.
Paul reveals God’s purpose in this passage. It is to bring to nothing the things that are…it is to put to shame all trust in outer appearance. In other words God is out to change the way we see.
The key to understand this is the last phrase- number 5 in the list above.
God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are,
Here is the reality of the world in which we live.
There are those who rule this world by Might, wisdom and nobility. They are the things that ARE. God is bringing them down by those that are NOT.
Who are those that are not?
All those who have passed through the Cross of Jesus having left behind their old self/life.
The things which are not corresponds to Galatians 2:20.
Gal 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave(traded) himself for me.
All who by faith have renounced their old life as a sham…and who now acknowledge ONLY ONE LIFE as their own life are those things that ARE NOT. Jesus Christ is the only life that we are. For you see, we died with Jesus on the cross. Now we live but it is not the old us…the old I…it is Christ who lives as us now. Therefore we are the “are not’s” referred to by Paul in 1 Cor 1:28b.
As we believe and dwell in Christ by faith, speaking the truth of our new life, those things that are…are brought to nothing.
The whole world system relies upon everyone putting on a show of the false self. As long as everyone pretends to be something when in fact they are NOTHING…the system of the world(Babylon) continues on. But God is awaking many to believe His word in these days.
To believe that Christ and I are one person
To believe that we only have one nature–the nature of God.
To believe that we are totally as He is in this world
To believe that we are fully in Christ who is fully in the Father…AND!!
To believe that Jesus is fully revealed in me as me…..that the Father is revealed as me too.
To believe that there is no accusation against me whatsoever….that I am totally clean and holy before my Father Whose heart IS MY OWN HEART.
To believe that where Jesus is now is in the Father….then I am also in Jesus where He is right now–in Father.
To believe that my flesh is the very flesh of Jesus Christ–the body of God.
To believe that my emotions are the very emotions of God….my mind is the mind of Jesus.
As we speak these wonderfully blasphemous things OUT LOUD…we are destroying the very substructure of the World system which is based on lies. We are overcoming the World.
Those who are the “are not”s…..are now Christ in their form…two people sharing the one body, soul and spirit.
Those who are…Who think that they are something separate from God, not needing Christ Jesus to be their ONLY life shall be brought to shame of face and to nothing..Then they may trade in their false self for the new person God has made for them. Jesus Christ.
