Jesus is the Word proceeding from the Father. He did not just speak words from God, but He IS THE WORD coming from God.
We know that there is only one God- The Father and one Lord Jesus Christ.
We know that God is a Spirit and therefore cannot be seen for He is invisible.
Therefore in order to be made visible God sent His Son to be His visible appearance in human flesh for Father desires to be known and seen and touched by His creation.
Jesus said these words…
Matt 5:8 “Blessed are the pure(katharos) in heart for they shall see God”
John 15:3 You are already clean(katharos) because of the word which I have spoken to you.
Later John wrote
1John 1:1 That which was from the beginning(the source), which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, concerning the Word of life—
1Jn 1:2 the life was manifested(revealed, unveiled, made to appear), and we have seen, and bear witness, and declare to you that eternal life which was with the Father and was manifested(revealed) to us—
The hearts of the disciples were cleansed by faith in Jesus- The Word of God.
The disciples saw God when they looked upon Jesus the Man. The pure in heart shall see God…and not die…but live!!
Paul says the same things
2Co 4:6 For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
2Co 4:7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.
We who have been cleansed through faith in Jesus contain the very face of Jesus in our face. God is seen in us!!
2Co 4:18 while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.
The pure in heart shall see God.
The Accuser would tell us that we are not like Jesus and point to our behaviour. He would have us judge ourselves by outward appearance and not by inner substance…for the substance of our being IS JESUS CHRIST.
We do not look at the outward but the inward. We see God by faith when we see ourselves. We are the visible manifestation of Jesus Christ to all creation. We are as He is.
Having a pure heart is not something we can make happen by not sinning or by supposedly obeying God in some way. A pure heart belongs to ONLY ONE PERSON…JESUS CHRIST.
Thank the Father that Jesus made a trade with you. He took your stained and polluted heart into Himself and became you and in return He gave you His precious pure heart.
It only remains for you to gladly receive Him as your heart…not just into your heart..but as your heart.
The pure in heart see God.
The ones who live by the goadings of the Accuser believe their heart is defiled and dirty most of the time. They fear their heart, they accuse themselves of being impure. They do not see God when they look at themselves…they see dirt.
Yet Jesus is the WORD of the Father made flesh(dirt)!
You are Dirt that has been made the WORD of the Father since Jesus is now the One who dwells fully in you.
Amazing!!
God wants to be seen and handled and known through and as you.
Let Him do this by accepting Jesus as your only life and only heart. A heart that is purified by faith in Him.
Act 15:8 So God, who knows the heart, acknowledged them by giving them the Holy Spirit, just as He did to us,
Act 15:9 and made no distinction between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.
We are supposed to see God when we see ourself. It is not a pride thing…it is not deception. God has chosen the foolish things of this world to confound the wise….the base, the lowly, the weak…is that you? It is me.
I am filled with God in every part of me. God fills me full with Himself. In my weakness His grace is made perfect.
I see God in me no matter how I am performing. I choose to see Him for that is the Gospel.
To see a man who is not like God and who needs to do better to become like God is to live in deception.
Judge yourself with righteous judgement–not according to outward appearance.
