The Gospel given to Paul
Col 2:6 As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him,
Col 2:7 rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.
Eph 3:16 that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man,
Eph 3:17 that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love,
Eph 3:18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height—
Eph 3:19 to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
You receive Jesus by faith.
When you received Him He came into your spirit and joined Himself there. You are now one spirit with Christ Jesus.
This is what happened when you were born again. He dwells in your heart through that same faith.
Paul says he wants us to be rooted and grounded in love..and rooted and built up in Him.
He wants us to walk in Christ…in the same way that we received Christ Jesus. How did we receive Him? By the faith that was given us.
So keep walking brethren…keep walking in faith, not relying at all on feelings to prove He is in you. Keep walking in Him.
How do you know if you are walking in Him?
There are two places that a human being can live
In the flesh or in the Spirit.
Let me encourage you brethren by Paul’s gospel.
In Romans 8:9 Paul tells us that we are not in the flesh but in the Spirit IF we have the Spirit in us. He says further that the Spirit witnesses with our spirit that we are children of God.
So we live in the Spirit…and Christ lives in our heart’s by faith….
To walk in Him is not some hard out of reach thing that only a few super spiritual types achieve.
Walking in Him is done only by faith.
Gal 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
We live by the faith OF the Son of God. Most versions have incorrectly translated this verse. They make it say we live by faith in the Son of God….they did not understand that the life we now live we do not live by our own power….but by Him. It is His life in us, His power, His love, His faith, His everything!!
You see, we have become sharers in the very life of Jesus. Our old self died and our new self is Christ Jesus in all His perfection, even though we are still us.
The Accuser would have us identify with the old self…but God points to a new self that we have become through Christ indwelling our spirit.
As we learn to identify with this new self – Christ in us…Christ one with us…Christ living in me as me…we not only live in Him but walk in Him too.
