God’s swearing habit

Lately the Holy Spirit has been bringing to my attention how God has a habit of swearing. For about a week now, phrases from Scripture would come floating by my mind without me trying to think them up. The one I am impressed with is from Hebrews where the Spirit writes:

Heb 6:12 that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
Heb 6:13 For when God made a promise to Abraham, because He could swear by no one greater, He swore by Himself,
Heb 6:14 saying, “SURELY BLESSING I WILL BLESS YOU, AND MULTIPLYING I WILL MULTIPLY YOU.”
Heb 6:15 And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.
Heb 6:16 For men indeed swear by the greater, and an oath for confirmation is for them an end of all dispute.
Heb 6:17 Thus God, determining to show more abundantly to the heirs of promise the immutability of His counsel, confirmed it by an oath,
Heb 6:18 that by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we might have strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope set before us.
Heb 6:19 This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil,
Heb 6:20 where the forerunner has entered for us, even Jesus, having become High Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.

When GOD says SURELY I WILL he certainly means for it to come to pass don’t you think?SURELY BLESSING I WILL BLESS YOU AND MULTIPLYING I WILL MULTIPLY YOU.

The I WILLS of God are just as strong as the I AM statements. They are to do with His very nature. Just as surely as He is I AM —–so when He says I SURELY WILL—it is a done thing in His mind.

We are Abraham’s SEED according to the Promise God swore to Abraham. We are children of Abraham through faith in his SEED – which is JESUS CHRIST.

What is the Promise we are told to patiently endure to obtain?

It is the ability to enter into the Presence behind the veil where our Forerunner Jesus has already entered. He Who is God, became a Man–died as a Man–was raised up to life as a Man– and has ascended into the Presence of God AS A MAN in a Resurrected Immortal HUMAN body. Not a body like ours any more–but a new body. This is the hope which is laid up for us in heaven. When we put on that tent, our immortal physical body, we shall be like Him.

It is what Paul said to the Philippians

Php 3:20 For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ,
Php 3:21 who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself.

This hope is an anchor for the soul.

The soul in these last days is being buffeted about like a tiny ship on the stormy seas. Let us encourage one another and especially let us encourage our own soul to remember that we are in this Life by His design and purpose. He called us out of the world. He caused us to come to Him. He drew us to Himself. He has sworn by His own name that He will BLESS US. That Blessing is the NEW IMMORTAL HUMAN PHYSICAL BODY LIKE JESUS NEW BODY.

Jesus made a Priest through an oath

Here again we see that God loves to swear. It is with an oath that He swore to make Jesus a priest forever.

Heb 7:20 And inasmuch as He was not made priest without an oath
Heb 7:21 (for they have become priests without an oath, but He with an oath by Him who said to Him: “THE LORD HAS SWORN AND WILL NOT RELENT, ‘YOU ARE A PRIEST FOREVER ACCORDING TO THE ORDER OF MELCHIZEDEK’ “),
Heb 7:22 by so much more Jesus has become a surety of a better covenant.

Here again, we are encouraged that we who are in the Son have also become priests forever(to the age). This Priesthood is to be carried out in that new immortal, heavenly body in the Ages to come with Jesus as the High Priest. Many are looking to be a Priest here and are wondering why God has not used them as such yet. But beloved saint of God, you are being prepared to walk in that ministry of Priest in the next Age which is shortly to be revealed.

This is also spoken of by the Spirit-

Eph 2:6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,
Eph 2:7 that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.

He might show – endeiknumi G1166; to indicate (by word or act): – do, show (forth).

God shall show through preaching and actions [through us] His saving grace….IN THE AGES TO COME. We are still in the same AGE that Paul lived in. But soon Jesus shall appear and a new Age shall begin where those given their immortal bodies shall rule and reign with Him for a thousand years.

The thing I am seeing here with all this is that all things are happening according to God’s oaths which He has sworn. He will not relent, but shall fulfil His OWN WILL regardless of what men think.

It is pretty cool, that God has promised with many oaths to bless us and to include us in all that He is and does. Men make promises but they often fail to keep their promise. But God has sworn by Himself and it is impossible for God to fail. What He has said shall be done and is being done and has always been done.

He is the WORD of God and in Him all the promises of God are yes and in Him amen.

God has Sworn to save all mankind.

Isa 45:22 “Look to Me, and be saved, All you ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other.
Isa 45:23 I have sworn by Myself; The word has gone out of My mouth in righteousness, And shall not return, That to Me every knee shall bow, Every tongue shall take an oath.
Isa 45:24 He shall say, ‘Surely in the LORD I have righteousness and strength. To Him men shall come, And all shall be ashamed Who are incensed against Him.

God has sworn that the earth shall be filled and covered with His glory.

Num 14:20 Then the LORD said: “I have pardoned, according to your word;
Num 14:21 but truly, as I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the LORD—

Hab 2:14 For the earth will be filled With the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, As the waters cover the sea.

God has sworn that all shall come home to Him.

Psa 22:27 All the ends of the world Shall remember and turn to the LORD, And all the families of the nations Shall worship before You.
Psa 22:28 For the kingdom is the LORD’s, And He rules over the nations.

Psa 65:2 O You who hear prayer, To You all flesh will come.

Rom 11:36 For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever! Amen.

God has sworn to draw all men to Himself.
