Eph 2:13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.
Eph 2:14 For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation,
I wonder if we can hear what God is saying to us through this brother Paul? If you listen to the things we say and pray and sing in Christendom you would not think so.
We once were far off from God.
That is the 100% true view of reality for all humankind. We were far off from God. Those who have still not been born again are still far off from God though He is near every one of them. Paul said in Acts 17 that “in God we all live and move and have our existence or our being”. Paul was referring to every one. But even though every one lives and moves and exists in God, if we do not have Jesus Christ in our hearts by faith, then we are still far off. We all need the Lord Jesus.
For the Christian the eyes will tell you that you are far off from God when things are not happening the way you want them to.
The ears will tell you that God is far away up in heaven when all around you hear bad news.
The emotions will likewise shout at you that God is far far away and you are all alone down here trying to get by.
As a result of this living according to the flesh we Christians pray Old Covenant style prayers and think in an old covenant way.
We cry out for God to rend the heavens and come down, when He has already done that.
We cry out to Him to fill us with the Holy Spirit when He has already given us the Spirit.
What we are really asking from Him is to give us the feelings we crave. So we open ourselves up for a counterfeit experience because we refuse to walk by faith in His word.
You at one time WERE FAR OFF….NOW YOU ARE BROUGHT NEAR!!
We can make the simple choice to believe His word right here at this point. In the midst of raging emotions and contrary circumstances you can simply stand on His promise stated clearly right here in Ephesians 2 and DECLARE OUT LOUD that
“I am brought near to God right now despite what my eyes, ears and emotions are telling me”.
“I am in Christ Jesus therefore I am one with Him right now…permanently one with Him”.
We cry out for peace from God, “Oh God give me your peace today”! What does the Word of the Lord say in Ephesians 2:14?
He Himself is our peace!
Jesus Himself is our peace. My peace I give to you, not as the world gives do I give. No, the way the world gives peace is to give you some thing, some material thing, like nice music, some drug or medicine, some poetry, maybe yoga and chanting. All these things are separate from your being and you take them to find a measure of peace.
God said through Jesus’ mouth, “My peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you. Not as the world gives.”
He Himself is your peace my friend. Jesus is your peace and He is one spirit with you. Do you believe God’s word or not? Then speak it out , declare it to yourself and to the Father.
It is unbelief to keep asking God to give you peace when He Himself is your peace. He is not up in heaven, He is in your heart.
Rom 10:6 But the righteousness of faith speaks in this way, “DO NOT SAY IN YOUR HEART, ‘WHO WILL ASCEND INTO HEAVEN?’ ” (that is, to bring Christ down from above)
Rom 10:7 or, ” ‘WHO WILL DESCEND INTO THE ABYSS?’ ” (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead).
Rom 10:8 But what does it say? “THE WORD IS NEAR YOU, IN YOUR MOUTH AND IN YOUR HEART” (that is, the word of faith which we preach):
Rom 10:9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
Rom 10:10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
It is not easy to confess/declare with your mouth against all outward appearances that you HAVE THE PEACE of God right now, but it is God’s way, the ONLY way to walk in Him.
For we walk by faith not by sight.
If we will not walk by faith we shall be ashamed. Father does not want that for us.
So we encourage one another to lift up our declaration in agreement with God today.
How can we go on singing songs that declare unbelief? How can we go on sitting in churches that preach unbelief? Without unbelief driving the church to get something down from heaven, most churches would cease to exist.
A 90 minute sermon filled with how to get something from God is 90 minutes of unbelief. It is religion. We have already been given all things in the Person of Jesus Christ. He Himself is our peace. He Himself is our wisdom, our righteousness, our holiness, our glory, our provision, our Life, our strength, our joy, our patience, our self control, our perseverance and everything else- Jesus IS!!
Religion wants a congregation of unbelievers who name the name of Jesus but who refuse to believe that He is all in all in them.
Religion wants a room full of Christian unbelief to pray for hours that God would grant them His spirit and grant them His power, His peace His love etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc!!
What does the word of the Lord say?!
HE HIMSELF IS OUR PEACE….HE IS YESHUAH…GOD’S SALVATION NOW! Not when you die only, but now He is a very present help in time of need. That is all the time, every moment.
All we are called to do is speak what He has said.
Abraham did not consider his old body or Sarah’s old body, he believed God and spoke faith words that it was already done for them. Do not consider the screaming coming from the eyes, ears and emotions of the flesh. Cut through all that with a choice to declare His truth.
I am filled with peace for Jesus dwells in my spirit.
I am brought near to God for Jesus is in me.
I have all I need for God is with me now.
I am full and complete in Him, for He is full and complete in me.
