How marvelous is our God and Father?! And how marvelous are we His children?!
Eph 2:10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
Psa 139:14 I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well.
Psa 139:15 My frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret, And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.
Psa 139:16 Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them.
The mystery of it all is astounding. God knows our beginning was in Him, just as Jesus is the Lamb slain from the foundation or conception of the world.(Rev 13:8) For all things come out of God and exist in God and are returning to God. (Rom 11:36)
Before any of our days came to be, God saw us in Christ Jesus. He in fact created us or made us in Christ. This goes along with His thought in Ephesians 1 where he says:
Eph 1:4 just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love,
Eph 1:5 having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will,
The Father saw all of His children in Christ, the Man who is the Last Adam. All were in Adam and so all died under the penalty of sin. But Christ represented us all on the Cross so that all shall be made alive in Him. 1Cor 15
1Co 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive.
1Co 15:23 But each one in his own order: Christ the Firstfruits, afterward those who are Christ’s at His coming.
We who are in Christ now by grace and faith are the First fruits of a greater harvest still to come. We have already been made alive by being IN Christ. The rest of humanity shall be made alive at a later time until all enemies are subdued and found to be IN HIM as well.
God has already prepared beforehand all that we shall walk in therefore we ARE walking in His will NOW for the steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord. Yes there are good works we have not yet walked in, but from God’s perspective He has already seen every day of our life for all our days are written down in His book before any of them came to be. He wants us to rest in Him and cease striving to make things happen. Instead we can begin to speak the truth in agreement with His word.
All of these things in Ephesians are promises and actual truth about us that we can agree with and boldly declare.
- I am created in Christ Jesus for good works.
- I am walking in those good works right now for I am in Christ Jesus.
- God saw all my days before I was even born or born again.
- The Father predestined me to adoption as a son of God by Jesus Christ to Himself.
- It is my Father’s good pleasure to have me as a son.
- It is my Father’s will that I am His son in Christ Jesus.
- I am holy and without blame before Him in love right now for I am in Christ Jesus.
These and many more things are the TRUTH about us that we can confess back to the Father, these are good works that I am created in Christ Jesus to walk in.
Being me in Him is pleasing to the Father!
