For hundreds of years after Jesus returned to the heavens the Gospel message was that Jesus died for ALL people to save ALL people in the end. It was only after Augustine, who admitted he knew nothing of the Greek language that Scripture was written in, that the doctrine of eternal punishment became the main accepted view of the official church
The law of first mention
The first time the word “all” is used in Holy Scripture is in Genesis 1:26

In the very beginning God makes clear that mankind is made in His image and is given dominion over ALL the earth. The meaning is clear. All means all.
All in the Psalms means all as well.
Psa_8:6 You have made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet,
God put all things under man’s feet, speaking again of dominion or Rulership. This verse is taken up by Paul in the book of Hebrews referring to the Lord Jesus Christ being given dominion over all things.
Heb 2:5 For He has not put the world to come, of which we speak, in subjection to angels.
Heb 2:6 But one testified in a certain place, saying: “WHAT IS MAN THAT YOU ARE MINDFUL OF HIM, OR THE SON OF MAN THAT YOU TAKE CARE OF HIM?
Heb 2:7 YOU HAVE MADE HIM A LITTLE LOWER THAN THE ANGELS; YOU HAVE CROWNED HIM WITH GLORY AND HONOR, AND SET HIM OVER THE WORKS OF YOUR HANDS.

For in that He put all in subjection under him, He left nothing that is not put under him.
But now we do not yet see all things put under him.
Heb 2:9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, for the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that He, by the grace of God, might taste death for everyone.
Heb 2:10 For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.
All things are FOR Jesus and all things are in existence BY Jesus. Because all things are given to Jesus, which includes all people, He tasted death FOR EVERYONE…so that everyone may be made subject to Him, under His dominion.
There is nothing that is NOT PUT UNDER HIM. All people, good or bad, rich or poor, slave or free, all are put under the authority of the Son of Man. God did this. All things/people are created by Jesus and for Jesus.
BUT we do not yet see all things put under Him.
This acknowledges the problem of time. In each successive age we have not seen ALL people come to believe in Jesus, but only a first fruits of people, a portion.
Nevertheless, this does not mean that all people will not eventually ALL be saved or found. It only means that from our perspective we don’t yet see it completed. FROM God’s perspective it is already completed, for HE calls things that be not as if they are.
Heb 2:14 Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil,
Heb 2:15 and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
Who among us have been in this bondage to the fear of death? ALL OF US!!
Jesus died for all of us. Why to release us from the bondage of fear. We all agree with this. But most do not see that God intends to apply this good news to all people. In fact He already has applied it!
1Co 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive.
1Co 15:23 But each one in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, afterward those who are Christ’s at His coming.
1Co 15:24 Then comes the end, when He delivers the kingdom to God the Father, when He puts an end to all rule and all authority and power.
1Co 15:25 For He must reign till He has put all enemies under His feet.
1Co 15:26 The last enemy that will be destroyed is death.
1Co 15:27 For “HE HAS PUT ALL THINGS UNDER HIS FEET.” But when He says “all things are put under Him,” it is evident that He who put all things under Him is excepted.
1Co 15:28 Now when all things are made subject to Him, then the Son Himself will also be subject to Him who put all things under Him, that God may be all in all.
I have bolded the phrases above for a reason. Jesus must reign as Lord, with full dominion UNTIL. Until what?
Till His enemies are put under His feet. Who are His enemies? All those who do not believe in Him
How does Jesus win His enemies? Love! He wins us to Himself through love walked out by those He already lives in. Prayer, preaching, good works..all are His manifestation of LOVE to His enemies. Remember that God has RECONCILED MAN TO HIMSELF…not Himself to man. It was not God who walked away from man. God did not need to come back to man. Man walked away from God and man needed someone to reconcile him back to God.
Jesus reconciled us ALL back to the Father, so that all men ARE JUSTIFIED NOW. ALL MEN ARE RECONCILED NOW!!
2Co 5:18 Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation,
2Co 5:19 that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.
God has reconciled us to Himself…all of us!! Christians love to say and to think that people are separated from God by their sins as Isaiah 59 says…but NO!! The cross of Jesus has solved that problem that ALL OF US HAD. We are no longer separated from God as far as God is concerned…we are reconciled to the Father…ALL SIN HAS BEEN FORGIVEN.
Rom 5:18 It follows then that just as the result of a single transgression is a condemnation which extends to the whole race, so also the result of a single decree of righteousness is a life-giving acquittal which extends to the whole race.
The whole race of mankind has been found NOT GUILTY in God’s court of justice. Is that the Gospel you believe or do you disagree with God and say that all men are still guilty before God except for a few believers? The good news is that Jesus died for all, man IS RECONCILED to God as Peter preached to the Greeks at Cornelius’ house..
Act 10:42 And He has commanded us to preach to the people and solemnly declare that this is He who has been appointed by God to be the Judge of the living and the dead.
Act 10:43 To Him all the Prophets bear witness, and testify that through His name all who believe in Him receive the forgiveness of their sins.”
It is because all sins have been nailed to the Cross that we can receive forgiveness. Unbelievers are forgiven already, they just do not know it. That is why we are to tell people. The war is over!! Your Ruler(the Devil) surrendered to Jesus, he is defeated! Hand yourselves in to God.
All were in Adam on the Cross in death. All were raised up alive in Christ. But time is involved in making that fact real in the lives of the countless millions of humanity.
For us who do believe in our life time, it was the God of grace who drew us to Himself at that time. It was HE who chose us.
We are the First fruit of a great harvest that shall occur at the end of the Age, when it is written in several places that ALL KNEES shall bow and ALL TONGUES shall confess that Jesus is Lord to the glory of God the Father.
This means that all people shall be born again, because NO MAN CAN CALL JESUS LORD EXCEPT BY THE SPIRIT.
Hallelujah, that Great Day of the Lord approaches.
Far from being a day when people should be terrified of Jesus it shall be a day when their eyes are finally opened top see Him for Who He is and NOT WHAT THE CHURCH HAS SAID HE IS.
He loved them enough to go to the Cross for all people when He came the first time. He loves all people still. He shall come a second time to set all people free into the same glorious liberty as the sons of God are now in.
The only thing that shall be burned up are the things that keep people in bondage to sin and unbelief. Jesus is coming to take vengeance on the enemy. Any enemy that is stealing and killing and destroying PEOPLE is an enemy of Jesus. He is coming to destroy those things that keep people from belief in Him.
ALL PEOPLE
Psa 22:27 All the ends of the world Shall remember and turn to the LORD, And all the families of the nations Shall worship before You.
Psa 22:28 For the kingdom is the LORD’s, And He rules over the nations.
ALL SHALL REMEMBER AND TURN TO THE LORD JESUS.
Psa 66:1 To the Chief Musician. A Song. A Psalm. Make a joyful shout to God, all the earth!
Psa 66:2 Sing out the honor of His name; Make His praise glorious.
Psa 66:3 Say to God, “How awesome are Your works! Through the greatness of Your power Your enemies shall submit themselves to You.

ALL THE EARTH—-ALL ENEMIES SHALL SUBMIT THEMSELVES TO JESUS—ALL SHALL WORSHIP JESUS
Rev. 5:13 And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb forever and ever.
EVERY SINGLE CREATURE IN HEAVEN, ON EARTH, UNDER THE EARTH, IN THE SEA?!!
That means all!!
Luk 2:10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
Luk 2:11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
It shall be good news and bring great joy THAT JESUS IS LORD AND SAVIOUR!!?? Not just to a few–BUT ALL PEOPLE!!
Joh 12:32 And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all peoples to Myself.”
The word is Helkuo, which means drag! Jesus is dragging all people to Himself. That means He is stronger than our feeble free will. Have you ever battled to pull in a large fish on a line? The fish uses all it’s will power to keep away from you, but you being STRONGER, WILL GET YOUR WAY despite the fish’s free will. You dragged that fish in, just like Jesus is doing with everyone around you.
The fact that we do not yet see all people coming to faith in Jesus does not mean He is not doing it. Death is not the end of the story! Even Death itself shall be done away with. Death shall be no more.
Paul said that we are all returning to God. He said we all came forth from God and we all exist in God, and we are all returning to God. It is a circle, but we only see it like a straight line.
We see a person getting born, living life, making choices and then dying. But that is only a portion of a circle from God’s perspective. It may take a long time, but eventually all will be brought back to the Father in their own experience.
Rom 11:36 For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. Amen.
